In the remote desktop, open the Start menu and click on the person icon on the left, then click Sign out.To access available applications click on the Start Menu and select the application you would like to open.Ĭlose an Open UMass Classroom Session and Disconnect.Use any applications as you would in a regular Windows environment. Once signed in, you will be redirected to the UMass Amherst Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) dashboard.

Enter your UMass Amherst password on the Single Sign On page and click Sign in.

On the Microsoft sign in page, enter your UMass Amherst email and click Next.

In your browser (preferably Chrome or Firefox) go to /arm/webclient/index.html.

There doesn’t seem to be any useful posts for the warning, so I’m just working my way through troubleshooting guides, but hoping somebody can speed up my process.Connect to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), formerly Windows Virtual Desktop, with a web client or remote desktop app client using Windows, MacOS, iOS, or Android device. Neither machine is on a domain (if it matters) and I’m just using local accounts. There were a number of RDP alternatives like Logmein and PUTTY installed, so my only guess is the previous owner had the same problem as me and couldn’t fix it. I inherited the one I am trying to RDP into, but it was pretty close to vanilla when I got it and I’ve fully patched it. I configured the client machine so I know its history. Since I see the background (briefly), I think it’s safe to assume it’s not a network issue or simple misconfiguration.

There are a number of informational message and the following warning: RDPClient_SSL: An error was encountered when transitioning from TsSslStateHandshakeInProgress to TsSslStateDisconnecting in response to 8 (error code 0x80004005). I think a big clue is what I see in Event Viewer on the client. As soon as the RDP session starts, I can see the background image of the destination computer, but it will suddenly close with no error on screen. I am trying to remote desktop from a Windows 8 computer to another Windows 8 computer.
